Suffolk Drum Teacher

Drum tuition in a well equipped purpose built studio in the Suffolk countryside covering all ages, levels and styles.

Using the Suffolk Drum Teacher method students are taken through a wide range of techniques, styles, coordination, grooves, reading drum notation, charts and much more…

Here you can also choose to be taken through the Rock School Graded exams from debut to grade 8. All students so far have a 100% pass rate to date and most of them being with merit or distinction.

These graded music exams are great for developing a range of skills, learning new styles of music and getting a respected and recognised qualification that is a true measure of your playing and musical abilities. Grade 6 onwards comes with UCAS points and can count towards University entry requirements.

For your peace of mind here at Suffolk Drum Teacher we are fully DPS (formerly CRB) checked and have full public liability insurance through the Musician’s Union.

Craig has been teaching my teenage son for the past 5 years. He has taken him from a beginner to passing his grades 2 and 3 this year. Craig is always friendly, helpful and flexible in his approach. If you need someone to teach you then Craig is an ideal person for the job.

Helen. Rumburgh, Suffolk.

I had played drums on and off for years never reaching a good standard and decided to take lessons. Craig has been teaching me for a couple of years now and has helped me immensely to iron out bad habits, improve my skills and inspire me to play better. Lessons are always interesting and encouraging and we have covered many genres including rock, jazz, latin etc.. Craig helped me prepare to play a few numbers at an important occasion at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club last year with top musicians – this would never have been possible without Craig (thanks Craig!). I highly recommend Craig and he’s a great drummer too.

James. Badingham, Suffolk.

I’ve been playing drums for many years but finally thought I needed a more structured way forward in order to progress my skills. Craig has provided a friendly and relaxed environment with a purpose built facility which is well equipped for students of all abilities. He demonstrates a high level of ability in both playing the drums and for coaching and guiding students through a range of skills/ tasks. He is very patient and encouraging, providing tuition on only what the student wants to do, whether thats practicing technique or playing along to a backing track.Highly recommended – wish I’d started earlier!

JC. Aldeburgh, Suffolk.

Craig continues to inspire my 11 year old son on the drums. His method of teaching is comprehensive, rewarding and fun and he has achieved the ability to reach and maintain a great working relationship with his students, keeping them not only interested but eager to thrive and learn more. Craig offers flexibility of teaching not only at schools or at your home but at his well equipped studio in Suffolk. After trialling many instruments and music teachers, drums with Craig absolutely hit the spot with Harry – thanks Craig, you have my recommendation every time.

Sarah. Bungay, Suffolk.

Craig is very professional in his tuition. I have a 13 year old who is learning well and Craig has the patience of a saint. Really thorough and methodical. Would recommend!

Terry. Saxmundham, Suffolk.

Craig is a very professional teacher with the credentials to go with it. Lessons with him are very relaxed and fun but challenging at the same time to take your playing on to the next level. I would highly recommend Craig as a teacher who can cater for all your drum learning needs.

Aaron. Lowestoft, Suffolk.

Craig has been teaching my 10 year old son for about 18 months now and my son has done Grade 2 and 3 achieving distinctions in both. Craig is the type of teacher people just dream of. He is obviously very motivated and passionate about drums and teaching and this is reflected in his students.
